For every season, turn, turn…

Tomorrow, we say goodbye to our wooden boat “Pearl” restored last season. PEARL is headed back up north to live with her new preserver and GUARDIAN along the Trent Severn waterway, they will keep one another safe and looking snazzy for years to come.

“There is a reason, turn turn…”

Next month, we say hello to this boat, coming into our collection. She is a 1965 Chris Craft Cavalier, hard top, loved over 30 years by the same guardian and preserver. It is our privilege to carry on their work.

She will remain a private Vessel.
“A captain’s launch”

New and “classic” tour excursions for 2022 are now available for advanced booking here.

Sometimes a boat just speaks to you…

This story begins just before the pandemic, which was placed on hold when I returned to full time work in healthcare.  This 1965, Chris craft was up for sale, looking for a new home after the owner experienced some serious medical conditions making the boat more than he could handle.

The Counter offer.

“How about a trade?”
We have a restored 1961 Courtney Craft at 18′ with a trailer which we restored the previous season.  As it turns out it was EXACTLY what the owner wanted and we made the deal.

He is eager to complete the trade, we are eager to get this new boat home and get her ready for  BUSY 2021 season.

Best,

On A Rare Day Off…

On a rare day off, (relative term for a small business owner)

I thought on a rare day off I would write a small story about a unique experience I as a Captain had with our 590 plus guests this year on Lake Erie….

I am remembering all of our #USATourism folks this season on our @long_point_iht excursions and how politics dissolved in the marshlands as we discovered together. Remembering a little one telling “The Captain” that “they had sandbars in the USA that were white.”
I commented back after thinking and said,
“It is amazing that despite the differences in colour we can see the same beauty of a sandbar in both our countries.”

The little one smiled and looked out for fish crossing the sandbar as we went across.
Their parents laughed and said……
“That is soooo Canadian of you to say that, well done.” and we had one of the best sunsets that year.

Do you have a fun or moving story of being on board one of our on-water tour or charter experiences YOU would like to share? Please comment here in a message for others to see. If you have pictures…
please post.
